Wikipedia is a place where millions of people around the world can find information about almost anything on the Internet. This non-profit organization has thousands of volunteers who regularly check the accuracy and reliability of the sources listed on the website, but some of them are flawed, contain incorrect information or link to sources that are not reliable.

But it seems that artificial intelligence can help improve the situation. According to a study conducted by nature’s machine intelligence,Artificial intelligence can help clean up these incorrect and incomplete references on Wikipedia.

The neural network side called SIDE, developed by Samaya AI, a London-based company, can automate the process of analyzing sources cited in Wikipedia pages to see if they support the claim made in the article, and can provide alternatives to Suggest resources that do not match.

The researchers say SIDE is trained on a database of good references on the website that are often promoted and attract the attention of editors as well as managers. The study found that in approximately 50% of cases, SIDE adhered to the reference cited in the article. And suggested better for others.

When the AI-generated results were shown to a number of Wikipedia users, the figures showed that 21% of users said they were satisfied with the references provided by the AI, while 10% said they preferred the existing sources. The rest (39%) had no preference.

Earlier this year, India’s Supreme Court warned authorities not to rely entirely on information from sources like Wikipedia, saying it follows a user-generated editing model that is not entirely reliable in terms of academic accuracy and can even contain misleading information. to promote
