Samsung has almost confirmed Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the Galaxy S24 Ultra

Samsung normally uses its in-house Exynos chips in its Galaxy S series phones globally, but in some countries like Canada, China and the US, it has equipped them with Snapdragon chips. Next year, however, the company’s dual-chip game will get even more confusing, with the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ rumored to use Exynos in most countries and Snapdragon in others. However, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to use the Snapdragon chip in all countries around the world. And Samsung’s new video pretty much confirms Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Zoom Anyplace Galaxy S24 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s AI engine

In a new video released by Samsung, the company’s new ISOCELL Zoom Anyplace camera technology is explained. It works with the company’s 200MP ISOCELL cameras, but Samsung has confirmed that the feature “Accelerated by Qualcomm AI engineAnd it showcased the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8 processor in the video. Since the Galaxy S23 Ultra uses a 200-megapixel sensor but uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Zoom Anyplace technology seems to have been developed for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. And since it requires a Qualcomm chip, it’s pretty much confirmed that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be powered by a 3rd generation Snapdragon 8 processor.

Check out Samsung’s official video below.

Zoom Anyplace technology works with 200MP ISOCELL camera sensors. This camera can simultaneously record the full field of view and zoomed-in areas on the video in 4K resolution. Users can select the desired subject in the camera frame and the camera will automatically track it, keep it in focus and record it. Both the full-angle view and the zoomed-in area are recorded simultaneously in high definition. Zoom Anyplace unlocks more creative potential and gives users a way to capture two different views using one camera. Samsung claims that even fast-moving subjects are prevented from leaving the screen. This technology also helps reduce screen vibration.

This feature works during 2x and 4x zoom. Thanks to the in-sensor zoom, colors and video angles remain the same between full view and zoom. In addition, the entire zoomed-in portion of the video has been re-mosaiced to provide higher detail than was previously possible.

Samsung’s E2E AI Remosaic reduces the recording time of a 200MP image by 50%.

Samsung also introduces E2E AI Remosaic for capturing still images. Compared to the current process, where a 200MP camera captures a raw image, then re-mosaics it and then sends the final image to the ISP for processing. With E2E AI Remosaic, remosaicing and image processing (in ISP) are done in parallel, cutting the latency of high-resolution photos (50MP or 200MP) in half. This means you won’t experience lag even when taking 50MP or 200MP photos, which is somewhat noticeable on the Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Both of these features are expected to arrive with the Galaxy S24 Ultra early next year. While Qualcomm omitted to mention Samsung at its keynote event to announce the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 earlier this week, this new video from Samsung showing off Qualcomm’s new chip pretty much confirms that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will use
