According to Weibo leaker Instant Digital, which has shared detailed details of Apple’s plans in the past, future iPhone 16 models may be equipped with an additional button. Instant Digital claims there’s a “high chance” we’ll get an extra button, with Apple also planning to move the mmWave antenna to the left side of the device instead of the right to accommodate the change.


The iPhone 16 Pro’s action button will apparently be placed on the side of the device, as Apple is expected to switch to solid-state button technology instead of the current standard button design.

Although there are expected changes to the Action Button, the volume keys and power keys are said to remain unchanged. These buttons are not currently solid state, although Apple’s plans may change.
