Google Pixel Car Crash Detection Feature Coming to India and Others check list

In some great news for Google Pixel users in India and some countries, the company has introduced its crash detection feature. In 2019, Google released the car accident detection feature for Pixel smartphones. After the recent rollout of this feature, Pixel users can see it in the Safety app on the Pixel 3 and newer versions. This feature was not well known until Apple introduced it in the iPhone 14 series. However, Google’s car crash detection feature was limited to only a few regions. What is the feature of car accident detection?

Pixels Car Crash Detection features uses built-in sensors to detect when the user has encountered a car accident. Using location data, motion sensors, and microphones, the feature detects car accident woes, waits 60 seconds for the user to respond, analyzes the situation, and automatically sends a message to 911 if there’s no response. This feature may save many lives and can be very useful.

This feature is a required feature for emergency situations, however, it comes with location limitations as well as language limitations. Now, a recent update says that it will be available in different countries.

List of new countries with car crash detection feature on Pixel phones

According to X Post Shared by Mishal Rahman, Google has quietly updated its support page and added five new countries to make car crash detection available for Pixel smartphones. India is also part of the newly added countries. Check the list of countries:

• Belgium
• India
• Portugal
• Swiss

A total of 20 countries can now access the car’s crash detection feature. However, this feature still faces language restrictions as Indian users are not able to change the language to Hindi. Additionally, 9To5Google reported that the car crash detection feature will be available for the Pixel 4a and later models, which also includes the company’s new foldable smartphones.
