From AI to Hybrid Power: The Next 10 Startups at Intel’s European Deep Tech Accelerator

Intel Ignite, Intel’s deep technology accelerator for early-stage startups, has launched its sixth cohort in Europe. Starting November 6, 10 startups will participate in a 12-week program in Munich.

As part of the initiative, selected companies will receive customized support on their growth journey, including mentorship, access to industry players and investors, and the opportunity to tap into Intel’s own resources.

The overall goal of the program is to accelerate how entrepreneurs can scale their technologies, find product-market fit, and raise funds with higher values. It is worth noting that Intel Ignite does not take any shares and startups do not need to pay participation fees.

The 10 companies (chosen from around 300 applicants) work in a wide range of deep technologies, from artificial intelligence and machine learning to fusion power, chip-scale photonics, and quantum computing.

They have an average seed budget of 3.9 million and originate from seven European countries: Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and France.

Here is the full list:

  • Deep diagnosis: Multispectral X-ray cameras for industrial inspection and material separation.
  • Dot Photon: Raw image compression and data quality validation for AI and ML applications.
  • Electric SQL: A platform for building responsive, real-time and local applications.
  • PhononTech: Impact printing for electronics through fine grain patterns in the micro to millimeter range.
  • Giscard: Testing and monitoring interface for ML models.
  • Proxima Fusion: The first generation of fusion power plants using QI stars.
  • Quantum Diamond: Diamond-based quantum sensors for semiconductor failure analysis and quality control.
  • Samron: AI chips that reduce power consumption without compromising raw computing power.
  • SuperDuperDB: Deployment and training of artificial intelligence and API on top of data stores.
  • Force: Coding platform for data science and artificial intelligence development.

“We believe that the startups and founders of this new group have the opportunity and potential to change the world,” said Marcus Bull, CEO of Intel Ignite Europe. These entrepreneurs can shape the next innovations in artificial intelligence, how the devices we use every day work, and the future of energy.

Intel Ignite was launched in 2019. To date, it has 148 companies in its portfolio that have attracted a total of 1.6 billion in capital. It operates four centers around the world: Munich, Tel Aviv, Boston, and London, which was launched in early September.

Deep tech startups interested in participating in the next European cohort can start applying in January 2024.
