VMware drives IT security and innovation – help secure the Net

VMware expanded the advanced automation capabilities and third-party integrations offered through the Anywhere Workspace platform, which gives organizations the tools they need to streamline IT workflows, enhance security and improve overall efficiency.

“Implementing automation capabilities in all aspects of IT workflows is essential to creating a self-healing, self-configuring, and self-secure environment that aligns with our autonomous workspace vision,” said Shankar Iyer, SVP and GM, End-User Computing, VMware. . Today’s announcements of next-generation Mac management with modern automation tools and new integrations with Intel equip organizations with unified management and insights that advance IT modernization and security.

Maintaining a holistic view across the modern workplace is essential, and our strategy includes strengthening this through a platform-based approach and leveraging automation whenever possible. Scott Gardiner, group end-user computing director, Rentokil, said: “As a global team working with more than 90 countries, a holistic view of our entire asset is critical.

With Workspace ONE Intelligence as our central data service, we can see real-time security posture data and experience data to help us troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively. The ability to review specific security issues and device timeline data allows us to streamline our support and remediation workflow. Once we pinpoint where our problems are, we can build automations with Freestyle Orchestrator to proactively solve them, allowing us to scale our IT organization, Gardiner added.

Next-generation Mac management simplifies IT workflows and saves money

macOS adoption is increasing as organizations support device-selective applications, but using siled tools to manage these endpoints can cause complexity for IT teams and inconsistent experiences for employees. Organizations recognize that integrating all devices into a comprehensive UEM strategy is the best way to improve security and reduce the cost and complexity of managing endpoint diversity.

VMware End User Computing addresses this need by introducing innovative Mac management capabilities supported by a modern automation toolbox in Freestyle Orchestrator, adding to the robust macOS management features already offered in Workspace ONE UEM.

Support for macOS endpoints in Freestyle Orchestrator provides a modern, low/no-code platform for creating and automating complex IT workflows, including application and patch deployment, software and resource sequencing, and operating system custom state management. It allows administrators to work more efficiently by enabling powerful automation for essential daily tasks such as installing and configuring Macs.

To create a self-healing, self-configuring, and self-secure independent workspace, VMware has announced Hub Health, new third-party security baselines, and a new update management dashboard for macOS. VMware delivers self-healing capabilities through Hub Health, a unique, always-on service that runs on the endpoint. Hub Health is powered by Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub and Workspace ONE UEM to automatically detect macOS device health trends and drive UEM preventative remediation for common issues.

With new third-party security baselines for macOS, IT administrators can easily manage recommended configuration settings from common security standards without manual scripting. With VMware Freestyle Orchestrator, IT can apply settings uniformly across all devices to ensure compliance and reduce errors. The new macOS Update Management Dashboard provides additional insights into securing Mac devices with support for patch scheduling, user and device targeting, error management, and escalation.

These leading Mac management capabilities are seamlessly integrated, eliminating management silos that save costs, increase IT flexibility, and enhance security and compliance.

Chip-level vulnerability management enables pervasive security

Building end-to-end security for today’s distributed workforce requires collaboration with a strong partner ecosystem. VMware continues to innovate with its technology partners and today unveiled broader integrations with Intel that enable more secure hybrid experiences.

Extensive Workspace ONE integration with device vulnerability insights from Intel

VMware introduced vulnerability management dashboards in Workspace ONE, emphasizing the need for comprehensive vulnerability management including assessment, prioritization, remediation and reporting. VMware announces the expansion of its collaboration with Intel to automate the detection of vulnerabilities at the hardware, firmware and driver levels, furthering its commitment to comprehensive vulnerability management.

Exclusive integration with the Intel Device Health cloud service brings telemetry data from all Intel Core processors into Workspace ONE UEM to provide better vulnerability insights into the operating system. By connecting Intels vulnerability insights and Workspace ONE’s vulnerability reporting and remediation capabilities, IT and security teams will be able to more proactively protect their organizations against hardware- and firmware-level threats. Integration enhances endpoint security and increases the speed and efficiency of vulnerability identification and remediation.

Michelle Johnston Holthaus, EVP and GM, Intel Client Computing Group, said, “Intel and VMware have a long-standing partnership, and we are proud of today’s latest step to provide the benefits of advanced IT management and security to our mutual customers. The integration of Intel vPro management features, and now the Intel Device Health cloud service, with Workspace ONE provides a unique endpoint solution that helps businesses meet their hybrid workforce needs.
